Kaycee is obsessed with watching movies right now, which she calls mooneys. And she gets SO close to the tv. She has a whole binder thing full of different cartoon movies, but really watches the same three over and over: Madagascar, Open Season & Monsters Inc.
So Kaycee is turning 2 today. I'm a little sad that she is not a baby at all now. We had a really good time in Idaho. Thank you Grandma Jill for the fun party. I will post some pictures soon. Kaycee also got her hair all chopped off. It looks really cute. I'll post some pictures of that too soon.
That didn't last long. I got a call yesterday from the daycare that Kaycee was freaking out wanting her B. So I had to run down there and give them a different one. I guess the problem was she has been spending some of her day in the 2 1/2 room because she will be going there soon. And Kaycee doesn't like change. Once she gets used to something, it has to stay that way forever. So when they took her to the new room she started to get uneasy and wanted her B. Then I guess the teacher in that class had the old B with the hole in it and had gone on break. By the time I had got down there she was fine, sitting at the table playing with a bunch of other kids. But the B is back for now. I figured that I will wait until we get back from our trip this weekend to start that again, she might want it on the plane. Or maybe I'll wait until she transitions to the new room and is use to it. Who knows. But in the battle of the Binky so far its Kaycee 1, Mommy 0.
This is horrible, but, Kaycee is already addicted to Sonic corn dogs. When we pass a Sonic she says corn dog. And if we park there she HAS to get out of her seat and sit up front with me. The only problem is, she never wants to get back in her seat. Oh well, it's cute while she is sitting up there with me like a big girl.
Yesterday she was watching a movie and wanted to eat. So I made her own little table. It was cute.
So last night I decided it would be a good time to ditch the pacifier. I don't know why, just because I'm tired of looking at it in her mouth. So, when I picked Kaycee up from daycare and she asked for it I told her it was under her pillow at home. We put it there when she is at home a lot. So then when she got home she kind of forgot about it for awhile. Then she started asking for it. I remembered this article I read about getting rid of the binky that said you cut the tip off and then they don't want it anymore. Besides, that is what Tierra did with Landon a couple of weeks ago and it seemed to work there. So I took the binky in the kitchen and cut the tip off before I gave it to her. Kaycee put it in her mouth and gave me the strangest look. Like this looks like my B but it doesn't feel like my B. She kept putting it in her mouth and taking it out and looking at it. I have some pictures I will post tonight. It was the funniest thing. She didn't really get upset about it until bedtime. She was mad that I wouldn't let her run around naked anymore and was throwing a fit. So I gave her the B and she threw it across the room. She didn't sleep with it at all last night. And she didn't really ask for it. She was up A LOT but I don't know if that was the B or something else. We'll see how she does at daycare without it today. I hope she just forgets about it.
Ok, so we are totally new to this blogging thing. But I thought it might be a neat way to keep everyone up to date on our lifes, mainly Kaycee and all the things she is doing now.
Kaycee will be 2 next Tuesday, she is a big girl now. We turned her crib into a big girl bed about a week ago. She likes being able to get in and out as she pleases.
Kaycee started attending a "real" daycare center a couple months ago. Up until that point she was being watched by different sitters in their homes. She wasn't so sure about the center at first, but she really likes it now. She is in a class with about 10 other 1 1/2 to 2 1/2's. They do lots of arts & crafts, play outside on the playground, sing songs, dance & do flashcards. When she first started going she would cry every morning when I left her and she would cry every afternoon when other kids started to leave. Now she doesn't cry when I leave and she is fine waiting until Mommy gets there to pick her up.
We are looking forward to our trip to Idaho this weekend to celebrate Kaycee's birthday.
